UtilityGenius™ is helping users take the next step toward completing their energy efficiency projects with Projects, a tool to help scope lighting upgrades to see energy savings, carbon reduction, ROI, and payback period including rebates! With Projects, users can build out a complete lighting retrofit using DLC™ and ENERGY STAR® certified products from their favorite manufacturer to determine their energy savings and rebate estimate to help them make the most informed decision for their project. Currently, this selection of manufacturers is limited to our Payback Calculator subscribers and users will only be able to select one manufacturer per project. Users will see more real-world project scoping capabilities, like multiple manufacturer selection per project and the ability to create their own product catalog, with the launch of our paid Projects subscriptions later this year.
Incorporating our Buildings functionality, users with buildings created in UtilityGenius will be able to link their Projects for a simpler and more customized experience. All address and utility information from a linked building will automatically populate for the Project. At present, a project can only be associated with one building, but look for multi-site functionality as we expand our feature offering.
Completed projects will unlock a PDF proposal for users to share with colleagues, contractors, and customers to help them make the most informed project decisions and discover additional savings available to them. The PDF outlines: the energy savings in dollars and kWh, the total project costs, the cost of waiting per year, an explanation of the utility rebate estimation, the tangible effects of the project’s carbon footprint reduction, and the full line-by-line project proposal.

All of the features included in this exciting update are still free to anyone with a UtilityGenius account. Along with Projects, a UtilityGenius free account can favorite utilities, access Buildings to track incentive changes at the property level, and weekly program & incentive change email notifications.
