Lightfair Adventures

For those of you that may not know about Lightfair International, it's the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference. The latest innovations in light and technology are unveiled there and new discoveries and knowledge lead the industry's future.

Being this was my first time at Lightfair International I didn’t know what to expect. With almost 16 years of experience in the lighting industry, I have always wanted to attend. It was the “big conference” that everyone in the industry talked about. And I have to say…it was amazing! Even though our booth was the last one in the entire conference (5955) on level one, we had people waiting in line for demos of Encentivizer. It could not have been more exciting!

Everyone in our booth talked to so many people about the problems they are facing and how Encentivizer solves them. We talked to manufacturers that do not offer rebates because they aren’t selling to the end user, but Encentivizer Product Awareness and Web Widget are perfect to help them sell more equipment. All manufacturers were wowed that we keep up with all the utility program changes throughout North America. Utilities loved the idea of the mobile app to increase program engagement and lighting distributors were so excited that the app allows them to show their customers on site what the rebate amount would be in real-time. They also liked that Encentivizer XL would save them time during the estimate phase of the project. This was definitely the highlight of Lightfair for me. Being able to relate to most of the concerns that people in this industry are facing, I was able to talk about real life situations and offer them solutions for every facet of the lighting rebate world!

We also had an exciting company announcement at Lightfair. A newly formed partnership with SnapCount (learn more about them here) that is proving to be a game changer! So many of the SnapCount users are eager to incorporate our suite of products into their workflow and we couldn’t be more excited!

Lastly, the biggest trend I saw was color tuning and controls. Keep your eye out for these trends in 2017…they will be big!

If you haven’t been to Lightfair, it is THE conference to attend to gain insight on what the future of lighting holds.

I can’t wait for LFI 2018, I hope to see you there!
